Does TeslaCam work on my Tesla?

TeslaCam recording requires Autopilot Computer 2.5 or 3 (Full Self Driving Computer). Steps to determine HW version listed below. 

If your Tesla was manufactured after August of 2017 then you are very likely have the hardware needed to use Dashcam and SentryMode using a TeslaCam USB drive.

The key component that is required for TeslaCam is Autopilot Hardware 2.5 or later (HW 2.5 or HW3/Full Self Driving Computer). 

You can determine your Autopilot computer by:

1. Tap Controls on your Tesla screen (car icon)
2. Tap Software
3. Tap Additional Vehicle Information

The Autopilot Computer version will be listed on the pop-up screen. Again, the TeslaCam USB will work for Tesla vehicles that have “2.5 Computer” or “Full Self Driving Computer.”

Note: Don't have the required hardware? Tesla does offer HW3 (Full Self Driving Computer) hardware upgrades for those that purchase the FSD upgrade. This upgrade will also allow you to use TeslaCam USB recording.
